Unwrapping Experience: 10 Gift Ideas too Big to Fit Under the Christmas Tree

Gift Ideas (inspired by Cleveland) too Big to Fit Under the Christmas Tree

When it comes to gift giving, we try to give the kids more experiences than things. Try and fail, but try nonetheless. I hate cleaning, so less to have to pick up, dust, move around, or throw away is fine by me!

I've shared in the past lists that were inspired by Northeast Ohio and the Cleveland area but this is the ultimate list of experiences that you can give to your family and friends that will make them remember you all year long.

Concert or Theater Tickets

Concert or Theater Tickets

I truly underestimated the power of taking my kid to her first concert. Not only did I look (and feel) like the world's best mom, we bonded in a way that I would not have expected.

Zoos or Aquarium Memberships

Adventure at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium

Northeast Ohio has a wonderful aquarium, a zoo, a botanical garden, and so many other fantastic places to celebrate nature and animals. And, the price of the family passes pays for itself in a short amount of time. You are not just sharing learning, but shared memories.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center

LEGOLAND Discovery Center

The one gift on both kids' lists year after year is LEGO! After experience LEGOLAND Discovery Center, I wholeheartedly recommend an annual pass. I'm considering it and we live two--hours away. The eight-year-old and thirteen-year-old had as much fun as their younger companions.

Monster Jam

Trucks and dirt - what more could a kid (or adult) ask for in an event! Heartstopping action and lots of fun for all ages.

Read about last year's fun and print the autograph book as an added bonus for your Monster Truck fan!

Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice is a classic and for good reason! The splendor of skating, the incredible sets, and the wonder of Disney all in one magical night.

Check out the photos from last year's Disney on Ice!

Classes for their passion

Classes for their passion

My kids take dance and it's pricey. Worth it, but pricey. Helping to pay for classes or getting them started is priceless. And, you could end up being the aunt or uncle ever!

Subscription Boxes

Subscription Box

Want your grandkid to remember you every month? Give them a subscription box for three, six or twelve months. Every month they will be forced to think of you and possibly give you a phone call.

Book of the Month is the best gift I've ever given myself, Amazon Prime has a Prime Book Box for babies to pre-teens, and my Husband thinks me twice a month. Once for Dollar Shave Club and again when Geek Fuel comes in the mail. I would also recomend Ipsy as a gift. It's fairly cheap and pre-teens (or moms) looking to explore makeup will think of you fondly.
