We are Cedar Point Blogger Ambassadors and received admission to Halloweekends in exchange for this post.  I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions are my own.

Our first Halloween event of Fall 2014 was spent at the opening weekend of Cedar Point's Halloweekends presented by SafeAuto. This was also the first weekend for Saturday fall activities so we got a late start to our day but I must say, I am so glad we did.  The weather was cool, clear, and would you believe - no rain!  Sadly, all summer our planned outings usually involved rain but not this weekend and can I just say, we had a scream of a good time!

We got to the park in the afternoon, measured and tagged the kids, and we were off to meet up with friends as well as fellow bloggers to ride the rides and be a little ghoulish. The kids had the choice to wear their costumes from last year (because I am not ready for this year) but they opted to go casual and comfortable.

Our very favorite ride as a family is the Sky Ride but it was closed due to high winds but thank goodness it was because we seem to skip right over the midway when we use it and this time we would have missed the trick or treat stations and corn mazes they have set up in Kiddy Kingdom for Howl-O-Palooza.

Trick or Treating at Halloweekends Cedar Point

My kids are not interested in the scary side of Halloween or at least my daughter was until she saw her first zombie wandering around so the Magical House on Boo Hill was out of the question and when one of the "monsters" at Howl-o-Palooza tried to give baby girl a treat she ran the other way!

Zombies and Ogre at Halloweekends

Between the monster in a crate and the Ogre on the midway, it was interesting to see my tough little one melt into a puddle of tears and the oldest trying desperately to be brave for his friends - it was fantastic.  It also did not last long because there were to many other things to do and see.

Halloween fun disguised as Cedar Point  - it was a howling good time!
