An Afternoon at Cleveland Museum of Art's Chalk Fest

Fall is my favorite time of year. The cooling of the air. The changing of the trees. September holds my two favorite festivals - Chalk Fest at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Ingenuity Festival.

Chalk Fest was a few weeks ago. I love looking back at photos from past years, but also from this year.

I cherish these moments I have with these little people who are growing into young adults. There are only a few more years that they will want to do these annual events with me. And, I plan to take advantage of their time for as long as they will allow.

On our way to the Cleveland Art Museum, we found a painted rock! For as many rocks as we've hidden, this was the first one we have ever found.

When we arrived at the museum, we collected our chalk and set-up our area.

As I stare off into space, I hear my name. I usually only see my friend's chalk drawing but this year I actually saw her!

The day was so hot. And, that was expected. Thankfully, we were under the shade and had packed plenty of water.

Can you guess my daughter's favorite color is blue and she isn't happy about it being all over her hands?!

I wasn't sure how long my daughter would last chalking in her appointed square. I was secretly hoping that she would give up and I would be able to sneak in and draw, too. She colored her square these beautiful shades of blue. And, I hoped in a drew a mermaid. I was inspired by my Book of the Month selection.

Sort of... my mermaid is by far prettier than the one in the book.

My spawn decided the mermaid needed a couple of friends.

My oldest went for an abstract, Cleveland pride chalkmontage.

It was a really good day.
