5 Netflix Streaming Favorites from My Kindergartner #streamteam

5 @Netflix Streaming Favorites from My Kindergartner #streamteam #backtoschool

As part of the Netflix #StreamTeam, I received product to facilitate this post. I have not received monetary compensation and opinions are my own.

The school year has started and I let my kindergartner *sniff, sniff* share her top picks for back to school watching on Netflix. Or in her case, first day ever.

It was way harder to get her to tell me and talk about what she liked about them then I thought it would be, she talks all of the time.

To celebrate her final day of freedom, we ordered a pizza and watched Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I thought it would be perfect since they are both starting school for the first time. (I don't count preschool.)

5 Netflix Favorites from My Kindergartner

Ever After High: The Way too Wonderland a @Netflix Original #streamteam

1. Ever After High: Way to Wonderland

In the third season of Ever After High, the fairytale friends are magically transported to Wonderland and need to save the Queen of Hearts while reversing the curse on Wonderland.

RD's take: "When the evil queen's daughter sign that destiny book I was furious, but now they are doing good in Wonderland."

2. Reading Rainbow

Butterfly in the sky... Now that I have that in your ear - how awesome has this been! Reliving some favorites and walking down memory lane.

RD's take: "I can read now!"

3. Magic School Bus

It's hard for me to consider this a classic since I was a year into college when it was released, but I did watch it with my nieces. When I started reading the books to my kids, I always hear Lilly Tomlin's voice as I read.

RD's take: "How do I get on that bus!"

Magic School Bus is still so popular that Netflix Originals will be releasing a new series called Magic School Bus 360 degrees. Look for it in 2016.

4 The Cat and the Hat Knows a Lot About That

I have not actually seen this, but my RD l-o-v-e-s this show.

RD's take: Speechless - she wouldn't talk to me when it was on.

5. Project Mc2

A kid operative is teamed with three girls on a mission to guard a cute prince. Part of me hates it, but a bigger part of me loves it because it shows girls that they don't have to act like boys to succeed or hid their IQs to be liked. I wish there was one that was not a brainiac and just to round out the over the top nerdy-ness but that has more to do with my own insecurities. I was an art major and could care less about S, T, E, or M.

My favorite bit, Danica McKellar — Winnie from "The Wonder Years," is in it!

RD's take: "I love their clothes and the prince is cute?" Hmmm.... at least she watched?

Honestly, she will be the kid that likes school in our house.

Finally

My favorite for back to school is Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I adore this movie quite possibly more than the originals. I tear up every. single. time. Beautiful Boy starts playing at the start of the memory montage.

This would have been six favorites, but I was recently informed that she hates the movie and only watched because I made her. This could be true but, she still cuddled with me and watched the whole thing.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman on @Netflix streaming #streamteam

Netflix is releasing a new Peabody and Sherman TV series in October and I think the premise could be really fun especially since it looks a lot like the hand-drawn original.
Mr. Peabody, the smartest dog in the world, and his boy Sherman host a zany late-night comedy show broadcast from their swanky penthouse in front of a live studio audience. Anything can happen in this show jam-packed with exciting segments, great musical acts and very special guests like outrageous neighbors and hilarious time travelers they meet with the WABAC machine.

Since, Mr. Peabody (Chris Parnell) and Sherman (Max Charles, from the movie) were outed as time travelers at the end of the movie it only makes sense for them to share their adventures with the rest of the world.

Look for it October 2015 only on Netflix.
