Looking Back on Our Summer in Northeast Ohio

Summer Favorites | Looking Back on Our Summer in Northeast Ohio

RD is in preschool!  And, as I was helping fill in her "get to know me" form one of the questions was "What was your favorite activity this summer?"

As I waited for her to answer, I went over all of her possible answers...

We spent a weekend showing another family all around Cleveland and our absolute favorite places.

LEGOS and Nature: Making Connections at the Cleveland Botanical Garden

The kids went to their first Parade the Circle at Wade Oval in University Circle.

We were invited to attend Triple Scoop with Chamberfest at Cleveland's Museum of Contemporary Art.

Not only did they enjoy the concert, the Museum, but they also got indulge in Mitchell's Homemade. I was lucky enough to meet the owner the week before and it was such a treat.

And, yes we went back to Mitchell's many times this summer...

We toured the LEGO Adventure Exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center, twice.

We took in a Lake Erie Crushers game in Avon, Ohio.

Actually, I went twice, once as a date night with the husband and friends then again with the kids.

Watching fireworks at the annual Star-Spangled Spectacular on Public Square Concert.

We partied at SkyZone for my oldest kid's birthday and ate a tornado cake.

We even were lucky enough to go to Cedar Point, twice.

Sure it rained to much the first time around but the second time was pretty fantastic (despite the rain). It rained a lot this summer.

We also went to Wild Water Kingdom but could not wait out the torrential down pour.  I tried, I really tried but it felt irresponsible to have the kids there plus it was cold and they just complained. We did eate there and the food was really good.  I had the pretzel club and the kids did the chicken strips with fries and it was worth eating in the rain.

And, we went to Dinosaurs Live!

Let's not forget the countless trips to our neighborhood parks, Preston HOPE park, the beach, another water park, and the pool but her answer...

Playing with her brother's friend who spent the summer away except for our one trip to Wild Water Kingdom with him.

Thank goodness for fall!
