Fall in Cleveland is Magical! And, two of my favorite festivals happen while the leaves start to change. You can keep your fairs and carnivals. Give me a good festival and I'm happy as a pumpkin with spice.
This past weekend we spent our Sunday at the Cleveland Art Museum chalking by the pond at the annual chalk festival. Despite being in the shade, it was so very hot.
I'm so thankful we got to be under the shady trees. They provided the coolest breeze. Being next to a water fountain made clean up easier since I forgot to bring wet wipes. I also forgot tissues. This is not unusual except with all the extra nature around me, my allergies were screaming at me!
Last year, we were chalking closer to the museum. This year, construction is happening.
It's hard to tell but look beyond the music tent.
One of the festival volunteers explained that Case Western Reserve University is building a greenway. The new greenway will cut across the Cleveland Museum of Art's south front by the Fine Arts garden and Rockefeller Park to connect the main campus to the campus on East 105th Street.
This is the fourth year that the kids and I have gone and actually participated. And, last year we really had an awesome spot.
And, the year before that we were right in the middle of the action.
I wish I could find the photos I have of the Hubs and me twenty some odd years ago. But, I will leave you with some of our favorites from this year's chalk festival. Most of the photos below are my son's. I'm pretty sure all of them are...
And, finally, ours. Impressed?
