It's about that time in the summer where I get sad that it's almost ending. I work full-time so coming home and not having to worry about homework and schedules is wonderful. That said, I love our weekend adventures.
Here we go Brownies, here we go
The hubs and I got to kick off the weekend at the First Energy Stadium to watch our beloved Browns in the annual Orange and Brown scrimmage. This is the first time I've seen a Browns game in person in some twenty years! While I'm not the biggest sports fan, I really had a good time. Friends and beer tend to have that outcome. Plus, the Browns won.
Saturday morning at Great Northern Mall and The Nut Job 2
The kids and I attended an advanced screening of The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature. It was so such a sweet and funny movie.Win a fun #NuttybyNature prize pack!
While at the mall, the kids jumped at the opportunity to Bungy Bounce before grabbing a pretzel and lemonade.
I'm not one to wander the mall, but it was fun. I'm not sure why we don't do it more often. I have a feeling we may be doing this more this winter.
Next up, The 40th Annual Lakewood Arts Festival!
My kids have spent many a Saturday at the Beck Center for the Arts and it's always a joy to see them at the festival.Beck Center never fails to have a great craft like making a wearable galaxy.
And, while the kids created we watched Shakespearean sword play by Beck Center players.
We even liberated a few pieces of art from the collection left behind after a pottery or ceramic class had ended.
My oldest is fascinated by architecture and discovered a kindred spirit in local artist Mark Yasenchack. Among the pottery pieces, we spotted tiny houses. These tiny houses sparked a conversation and lead to an interest in taking a pottery class.
I passed off the camera to the oldest while RD and I looked at jewelry.
Kettle corn and Menchies rounded out our afternoon. And, we signed up to volunteer for Lakewood Charitable Assistance Corporation.
While we were browsing art, less than ten minutes away people were gathered making art in the sand. AIA Cleveland and the Cleveland Metroparks teamed up for a third year to host Beach Day. Sand castles and volleyball dominated Edgewater beach.
Strolling the beach while the sun set was the perfect ending to the day.
Lazy Sunday
Sunday started with a morning coffee date with my oldest and ended with Sharknado 5. I only regret that we didn't watch the whole marathon.I also refrained from taking pictures and social media. For the most part...
