If We Had Coffee...

Scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across a photo of "If we had coffee." It's the title of @rachlovescle's latest blog post and I thought, "I would love to have coffee with her!" I went on to read her post.

Here is my response to our imaginary coffee date.

I'm so happy we got together at the pool!

I know you don't like coffee so I got you something refreshing when I picked up my iced coffee. I adore coffee. I have written many a blog post declaring my love for the delicious beverage over the years.

Thank you for sharing your post as well as introducing me to your inspiration for the post by Greatest Escapist! I love reading new blogs especially ones from Cleveland!

I'm an introvert, too! I would much rather be home watching TV or reading, but I also know I would never leave my house if I gave in too often to that feeling. I learned this the hard way in my twenties. I force myself to go outside my comfort zone. I don't always like it.

My kids are doing really well in their swim classes. Since the classes are in the evenings, three days a week, I've been spending a lot of time poolside. I'm surprised that my youngest is doing so well since she just started putting her face in the water last month. She is now swimming like a puppy. She's got the dog paddle down.

I'm obsessed with the news. I just can't stop watching or reading about the shenanigans going on in the White House. Mostly I want to cry. Spicer's daily press conference was the highlight of my day. I'm devastated that he's no longer on camera. At least not as much as he once was. I want to cry over the nonsense that seems to be other people's normal.

On a lighter note, my kids are WKYC Bus Stop Kids! Since it's summer they are Summer Fun Kids.

Still working out at the downtown YMCA. Not as consistent, but every opportunity. I feel leaner and stronger. I've been working a shake program with success, too.

My problem is that I love food and beer and wine and ice cream. So, I'm going slow. Not gaining weight however not losing two pounds a week either. I'm good with this.

Let me tell you, writer's block for bloggers is all too real. I've been struggling for the last several months or so. I've also not been able to access my email on a regular and that's been hurting me as well. There's just not enough time in the night to dedicate to my blog. That said, I'm creating a new schedule to get me on track again.

My oldest participated in a film making camp this summer. The premiere of their movie is tonight. The camp is hosted by a new young filmmaker academy blocks from our home. There seem to have been a few hiccups but nothing that happened to affect his experience. And, it's been a very positive project. I'm so excited to see the end result. Did I mention it's a red carpet premiere at The Capitol Theater? I know, right!

We are also set to see Spiderman this Friday. My youngest is crazily excited, plus she is taking her best friend. Since her BFF moved out of state two months ago, she's thrilled to be able to spend some time with her.

Finally, we are trying to plan a weekend trip to DC to check out the museums. My kids have been begging to go and we are thinking of going Amtrack. We'll see. My kid is reading The Seventh Most Important Thing (affiliate) for school. The author, Shelley Pearsall, was inspired by the work of folk artist James Hampton which is in the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

It's been great catching up! I hope to do this again real soon.

I'd love to catch up with you as well! What's going on in your world?
