My List for a Fall-tastic Time in Northeast Ohio

What to do This Fall in Northeast Ohio

As much as I dread winter and mourn summer - I LOVE FALL in Northeast Ohio!

Pumpkin everything, leaves turning, and trick or treating are just a few of my favorite things. But, I actually have a list of things that we will be attempting to check off our list. Some are new and some are our traditions.

Chalk Fest at the Cleveland Museum of Art - September 19 - 20

This is one of our favorites to kick-off the season of Fall festivals!
Large square (approx. 3 x 4 ft.) and a 24-color box of chalk: $16.
Small square (approx. 2 x 3 ft.) and a 12-color box of chalk:$8.
If you are nervous about chalking on the sidewalk, there is a workshop the weekend before but you can always just browse.

Ohio City Street Festival - September 27

We have never been to this, but it seems like it would fun and I just love to visit this neighborhood! I'm also not sure if this is the first or tenth year but eh, there will be beer,

Festival-goers can expect:
  • Food from Ohio City restaurants
  • Vendors from Ohio City retailers
  • Programming including music, dance and art
  • Two beer gardens featuring beer from Ohio City Breweries: Great Lakes Brewing Company, Platform Beer Co., Market Garden Brewery
  • Special West Side Market hours: the Market will be OPEN on a Sunday!
  • Programming on the Ohio City Farm
  • Mitchell's Ice Cream eating contest
  • Bratwurst eating competition sponsored by Frank's Brats
  • A dunking booth - dunk your favorite Ohio City neighbor!

Halloweekends at Cedar Point Open September 19!

Halloween at Cedar Point! What could be better - roller coaster and zombies! During the day, it's pretty kid friendly and last year they even had a trick or treat station. Not sure the details for this year but you can take a look at our visit last year.

Marvel Universe Live! - October 1 - 3

Another one we have not been to, yet, but you can go too! Enter to win a four pack!

Ingenuity Festival - October 2 - 4

This is by far my favorite of all of the festivals. I must admit, last year was not as well done as in the past, but I have super high hopes for this year. It will be at Voinovich Park by the Rock Hall and should be a great time!

Goblins in the Garden - October 3 - 4

This has become a family tradition - dress up, trick or treat and play on haystacks. My kids love this!

Last year we had a membership, and I don't remember paying. And, I don't remember it being $20 for a carload of non-members so I suggest loading up a car to take advantage of the by the car pricing. Even for a family of four - $5 each is worth it!

Okober Fest on Put-in-Bay - October 10 - 11

Not one we've been, too but if there is a way we can swing this - the Hubs and I will be trying sans kids!

Spooky Pooch Parade - October 17

This parade of pooches is in Lakewood at Kaufman park. How can anyone resist cute dogs in costume!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Circus XTREME - October 21 - 25

I adore the circus. I can't help it but I do and this may be the last time you will be able to see elephants in the acts. I have such mixed emotions about this. They've always been my favorite even though I feel bad for them. Anywhoo! I will be giving away tickets closer to the event and you can see our experience from last year's performance
