As a #streamteam Netflix blogger, I have received product to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own. I have not received monetary compensation.

There has been an incredible amount of rain this summer and it seems like every weekend has been rainy and cold. Needless to say, we have been spending a whole lot of time indoors. Thankfully, we have Netflix and have been doing some shameful binge watching.

The Hubs and I finished the new season of Orange is the New Black and I could not stop watching Sense8! I was actually sad when the last episode ended and I cried a little, okay, a lot.

The kids have also been watching more on Netflix when LEGOS, books, and coloring no longer hold their interest. There are so many great shows to pick from especially the Netflix Originals, but I've been trying to expose them to old shows that I once loved like Scooby Doo, Jem and Inspector Gadget.

The little one has loved Scooby Doo since she could say Shaggy and the older one shares my love for Courage the Cowardly Dog.

I was more than a little excited to see that Netflix dusted off Inspector Gadget and updated it. If I close my eyes, I can almost pretend to be ten again, watching it with friends after school.

I decided that baby girl needed to see the real Jem and the Holograms, so she will hate the movie as much as I know I will when it comes out. How can Hollywood ruin such a girl positive show by taking away everything that made it worth watching? I guess we were more ready in the 80's to have a strong woman running her own company while taking care of a foster home and competing in the cutthroat music business.

Both kids have been Garfield fans since they started running episodes on Boomerang and who doesn't love old episodes of Spider-man and His Amazing Friends.

Next spring, Netflix will be releasing an updated version of Danger Mouse. My dad and I use to watch that together and when I saw that the old episodes are streaming now, I made the kids watch with me.

I should not be so sentimental when it comes to TV shows, but I am. I have so many fond memories of watching cartoons with family and friends that I'll never apologize for letting the kids indulge in them.

They will never know the joy of waking up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons before mom and dad got up but I'm certain that they'll remember the rainy (and snowy) nights cuddled in bed watching their favorite cartoon over and over again.
