The alarm goes off and with one eye open I fumble for the snooze. Sleep or work out? I ask myself this every morning as I drift off to sleep for another fifteen minutes. By the time I do drag myself out of bed, I have time to shower, dress, make sure kids are dressed, make lunches, breakfast and get out the door with nothing but a cup of coffee.
Sure, I could prepare everything the night before and often I do but even when I do it is still tempting to hit that snooze button just one more time since everything is ready and I find myself still racing out with just a cup of coffee.
In my head I know I need to take better care of myself but lately I have been more focused on the kids, and now even more so with the oldest back in school. Most days I take the stairs, up and down, at work (the seventh floor no less) and I use a balance ball while sitting at my desk. I eat well most days and cut out fast food but I am still lacking in the vitamin department. The best time to take them is in the morning on a full stomach and the last thing I want is that horrible horse pill thing with my coffee, which, by the way gives me a stomach ache when I do take them with vitamins.
Night time is an option but again, I can never bring myself to take them because they just taste so bad!
But there are so many good reasons I should take a daily vitamin. For one, I skip breakfast and I don’t always have a balanced meal in the afternoon. Those are the days that I especially feel the need to reach for the vitamin bottle. But I can’t bring myself to do it!
Luckily for me the people at Vitamint were like, “Hey, want to try our vitamins? They are also mints! And while we are at it we can give you some to giveaway, too!” and I said, ”Heck, yes!”
Yep, mints and vitamins in one! Vitamints! And they come in so many different kinds:
Immune: Proactively boosts immune function
Energy: Helps maintain stamina and endurance
Calm: May improve relaxation to alleviate symptoms of stress
Focus: Helps enhance concentration and memory
Multi for Women: Designed specifically to address women's health needs
I tried calm the day they arrived in the mail and I was having one of those afternoons that nothing was going right and after the shock of how strong it was (and by strong I mean curiously strong) I actually felt calmer.
I keep the Mutli for Women and Immune at my desk at work and Focus in the car. I gave Energy to the Husband to keep in his bag for work since he puts in twelve hour days and he takes it when he needs an extra boost. Calm is kept in the kitchen because, let’s face it, we both need that one and the closer it is to us the better for everybody.
Taking vitamins in the mornings if I skip breakfast is not so guilt inducing, and since I am always drinking coffee it also helps to freshen my breath while getting in my daily requiremints.
Want to try them for yourself? They are available at Walgreens and Drugstore.com for about $4.99. Of course you can also enter the rafflecopter giveaway below.
