Ah Summer, you hot, nasty bitch you!  I'm being lazy and taking Mama Kat up on her prompt to recycle a post from July, mine happens to be last July.  If  you want to know more about ratios, adding flavors or why I posted this in the first place - the original post is here.  Otherwise...

Want to beat the heat?  Drink iced tea!  I drink it by the gallons at home but if you want to please the people (or you) who prefer sweet tea, make simple syrup!  It's simple!  Really, it is.


First, bring cold water to a boil in a sauce pan big enough to hold at least three cups of the finished syrup (sugar expands, learned that the hard way).  *   When water is boiling, add two cups of sugar (plain, old fashioned sugar) and stir continuously until sugar dissolves.  *   Once the sugar dissolves, remove from heat and let it cool completely before bottling.  *   After bottled, refrigerate and enjoy, in moderation of course...
