Kid Groove Nation - Spotlight Post for 12 Days of Gifts Galore Giveaway Hop

The 12 Days of Gifts Galore Giveaway Hop (hosted by Tales From the Nursery, Formula Mom, and Mama on a Green Mission) starts this Friday, November 25th.

There will be over $5,000 in prizes offered to help you get gifts you need this holiday season.

Here is just one of the prizes that you will be able to win this Friday from iNeedaPlaydate!

I am not going to lie - when I first popped the CD in I wondered if the kids would like it. Kid Groove Nation is one of the hippest, smoothest collection of kids songs I have ever heard.  This is jazz, baby.  Would the kid's like it?

Heck, yes, they did!

Take a look at the kids groovin' to the first track.  (My awesome daycare provider took the video for me!)

Kid Groove Nation is the brainchild of, Rodney Lee, record producer and keyboardist, who discovered a lack of "funk-filled, soul-infused" music to play for his son.  So, he recruited some very talented musicians and put out his own, unique series of kid's music.
Groove Kid Nation, Music in Motion, builds on the success of the critically acclaimed first release, The Wheels on the Bus, which received a coveted 2011 Parent’s Choice Silver Honor Award. This time around producer Rodney Lee and his team of top L.A. musicians recorded an album designed to get children moving to the beat while simultaneously learning about musical concepts and instruments. Through groovy classic soul tracks, this mostly original set draws kids into the action with specific instructions on what to do from funny dance moves, to playing air guitar, to responding to musical cues, to simply nodding their heads to the beat. An entirely new band of feline characters known as the Kool Katz guide the fun, and the enclosed 10-page booklet features colorful illustrations of each Kool Kat playing their own instrument.
Flipping through the booklet that comes with the CD I really and truly have to wonder - why is this not on Noggin Nick Jr. or have a series of books?  The illustrations are brilliant, truly inspiring and my first grader spent hours (okay maybe not hours, but..) staring at them, asking questions and making up stories.  I am just saying that maybe they could branch out and do a series of books or at the very least a Behind the Series akin to the VH1series.

The kids love it, I am not scratching my ear drums out listening to it and I even downloaded some tracks from Groove Kid Nation "Wheels on the Bus"; what's not to love?  Both, Groove Kid Nation CDs, would make great Christmas gifts and Rodney Lee is giving us first crack at a 20% coupon code that is being offered through Dec 31. The code is GKNholiday20 and you can the order the CDs hereNeed another reason to buy the CD?   10% of the wholesale price of Music in Motion will be donated to CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting poverty.  This music really has soul!
